Lead and motivate the Service Department to achieve customer satisfaction, sales, profitability, and productivity goals
Meet daily with Service Advisors to review repair orders, customer concerns, workflow, and potential service issues
Monitor repair and maintenance operations to minimize delays and maximize technician productivity
Work with the Service Director and General Manager to establish and achieve departmental goals
Recruit, interview, train, coach, and develop Service Department employees
Review daily sales, production, and performance reports
Analyze Service Advisor and department performance and implement improvements when needed
Schedule and staff technicians based on production requirements
Maintain efficient repair-order flow and maximize shop productivity
Monitor warranty activity to ensure compliance with manufacturer and dealership policies
Maintain department expenses and financial performance within established guidelines
Administer Service Department payroll in cooperation with the payroll department and management
Conduct employee performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching
Conduct weekly Service Department meetings and participate in management meetings
Ensure compliance with OSHA and all applicable safety regulations
Maintain dealership standards for customer vehicle care, cleanliness, and operation
Help maintain service equipment, tools, and facility standards
Stay current on manufacturer products, programs, technology, and service procedures
Participate in dealership operational planning and strategic initiatives
Previous Automotive Dealership Service Management experience is required
Ford dealership experience strongly preferred
2–4+ years of automotive service management experience preferred
Strong leadership and team-building skills
Proven ability to improve Service Department performance and profitability
Excellent communication and customer-service skills
Strong understanding of dealership service operations, warranty procedures, and repair-order flow
Ability to recruit, train, coach, and hold employees accountable
Reynolds & Reynolds DMS experience preferred
Associate degree, technical training, or equivalent automotive dealership experience preferred
